Update: We have returned from our tour of National Parks Near Las Vegas!  <== Check out this point to see all of the great tips that we share.

We are excited to announce our next big road trip!

<<Drumroll Please>>

We are going to take off for Las Vegas, Nevada!!!  Yay!

Las Vegas is known, of course, for its massive casinos, world-class entertainment, and the indulgences that accompany a glitz and glam lifestyle, but Las Vegas is also a city that puts you geographically within the reach of a number of National Parks and monuments, all within a reasonable road trip distance given our time constrains.

This is all great news for us because we will get the best of both worlds – the beauty of the outdoors which we appreciate more and more with each trip that we get to take, and the self-indulgent luxury that will leave us feeling (hopefully) refreshed.

We are now in the beginning stages of planning this trip, and can’t wait to share our planning process and resources with you!  We are starting to save ideas to our National Park Road Trip From Las Vegas Pinterest board if you are interested in seeing a curated list of resources and ideas that you can use for your own Vegas road trip.

Our Plan:

We have a total of 11 days (including travel) that we are allocating for this trip.  This is a high-level overview of the sites that we plan to hit.  Click here for a map of the National Parks in the region.

      • Great Basin National Park
      • Cedar Breaks National Monument
      • Bryce Canyon National Park
      • Zion National Park
      • Pipe Springs National Monument
      • Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument
      • Rainbow Bridge National Monument
      • Glen Canyon National Recreational Area (Glen Canyon Dam, Horseshoe Bend)
      • Grand Canyon Parashant National Monument
      • Grand Canyon National Park
      • Hoover Dam
      • Lake Mead National Recreational Area
      • Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument
      • Death Valley National Park
      • Red Rock Conservation Area
      • Las Vegas

This is, of course, a lot of activity to pack into a few short days.  If we had our way, we would spend a week in each park!  But since the parks in this area require a significant investment of time for us to get to from our Ohio home, we are opting to pay quick visits to several places in order to see as many as we can.  We plan to visit all of the National Park Units that we can reasonably fit into our schedule!

In the coming weeks, we will share the process of how we are planning for this trip.  Please join our email list so you won’t miss any of the awesome tips and updates that we will be publishing.  We also look forward to sharing our experiences with you when we get back too!  So much to do, so little time!  Happy exploring! 😊

Thanks Auntie! Love you and Uncle (and your beautiful site and puppies!) We will make sure to take some good photos and share our research to both let you know what we see and save you guys some time with your planning 🙂 Maybe you can train me to take care of the farm so that you don’t have to worry about it while you travel (wishful thinking?) I’m glad that this trip piques your interest… we are certainly looking forward to it! Love you!
